The Firebird

For my university major project, I chose Stravinsky’s iconic ballet suite The Firebird to design and create two ballet costumes, drawing inspiration from the rich elements of Russian folklore as well as the intricate details of Russian fashion history. The floral motifs that adorn both costumes were custom designed, digitised and digitally embroidered onto each pattern piece to ensure seamless integration during the construction process.
